Mentoring Boot Camp: ASL to English Interpretation

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

For several years now, ACDHH and Arizona RID have offered a mentoring program and we have experimented with different delivery methods. We are, once again, changing things up! We will approach mentoring in a “boot camp” style that will focus on one skill during an intensive 3-day session. Following the in-person component, apprentices will have the option of doing additional online practice with feedback from certified interpreters for 6-weeks. Our first Boot Camp session will focus on ASL to English Interpretation. Each day will focus on a particular feature/skill related to voice interpretation. Both Mentors and Apprentices will benefit from direct instruction, then Mentors will work with Apprentices to provide support and feedback during our MANY practice/application activities. CEUs will be provided for both Apprentices and Mentors. The 3-day session is $50 for Apprentices and FREE for Mentors! Contact Vicki Bond if you are interested in participating!
